Creativity & Sensuality

Is a link between creativity and sensuality? Can one inspire or feed off of the other?

I ask because I've noticed a possible connection between the two in my life. When one wanes, the other seems to wax.

For sure.
I've noticed the link before in my own life but it wasn't until last year that I ever heard anyone articulate this idea out loud. Henry Cloud mentioned this on his radio show and he said essentially, "people who are very comfortable and secure in their masculinity or femininity will be very prolific creative people in their work."

I'm quoting from memory but I think I've captured the gist of what he said. I do remember smiling at the double entendre in the words "prolific" and "creative" because I felt they underscored the truth of what he was saying.

Whether you're creating a screenplay or procreating a daughter, there's something inherently sexual about it. It's pleasurable and you pour part of yourself into it as it comes into being.

Good call, Lydia!

Creativity is spiritual and sensuality is earthly.

what is it when you direct your creative abilities toward sensual ends? as in, creating erotic art or exploring ways to enhance sexual pleasure (who in the world ever came up with the idea of oxygen depletion to intensify orgasms, anyway?)?

the dichotomy between spiritual and sensual is tempting, but i'm not sure that the divide between the two is quite that simple.
